iPort™ Goes Fifth Avenue at Bergdorf Goodman

SAN CLEMENTE, December, 2006
–"Shop till you rock" just might become the latest fashion at posh New York City retail icon Bergdorf Goodman. The chic Manhattan department store has installed the iPort™ Music System for the iPod™ into a pair of stylish listening stations in its 5F Café. The iPort music system was the first product of its kind to integrate the popular Apple iPod and iPort continues to lead today with a range of in-wall and free-standing systems that integrate iPods into home audio or audio-video system.

Bergdorf's installations give tired shoppers a chance to enjoy a comfortable musical timeout while shopping. Elegantly integrated into one end of the espresso/juice-bar at the Fifth Avenue institution's 9th-floor café, are two listening stations featuring the iPort In-Wall (IW) music system. Each independent station is equipped with comfortable high-end headphones and iPods loaded with a wide variety of new and favorite music including a wide selection of CDs offered for sale at Bergdorf's, enabling customers to preview prospective purchases with superb quality.

The Bergdorf Goodman installation was designed by custom audio/video installation specialist Innovative Sound & Vision, LLC of Mineola, NY. Principal Greg Brion Jr., who conceived the layout, found the iPort IW the perfect solution to this unique challenge. "The iPort's functional elegance and clean installation lines - complement Bergdorf's style perfectly," Brion says, "And its compact and full-function wiring system met the job's requirements simply and easily. The result is an extremely satisfying, elegant installation."

The iPort In-Wall (IW) and Free-Standing (FS) product lines offer flexible iPod-integrating solutions for any iPod with a dock connector. Basic iPort models provide drop-in charging, audio and video outputs, and seamless connection to Apple's iTunes software while more advanced options add remote iPod control, sophisticated, preamplified audio circuitry, and RS-232 connectivity for full, two-way communication of all iPod display-data and controls to in-wall or touch-screen controllers.

iPort systems begin at manufacturer's suggested prices as modest as $100, reaching above $1,000 for the most powerful, full-integration audio-and-video solutions.
