Sonance/iPort™ Signs
Licensing Agreement with Russound
SAN CLEMENTE, March, 2008 — Dana
Innovations, corporate parent of Sonance and iPort
music systems for the iPod®, has announced an
agreement with Russound, a leader in multiroom
audio, to license its unique iPod-integrating technologies.

share the key enabling technologies of iPort with Russound,”

is ideally positioned to leverage
our organization’s proprietary, patented innovations,
bringing their benefits to customers in
multiroom systems and products that extend our scope
in important areas.”
Dana Innovations’ patented iPort concept and
technologies encompass “docking” structures
able to
accept the full range of Apple iPod models and other
handheld audio players, and of delivering full
control including audio playback and file-selection,
throughout a multi-zone audio system. iPort’s
unique technology also incorporates hardware and firmware
that enable personal computers to
integrate iPod control and audio-file transfer via
the in-wall dock, integrating and synchronizing the
audio system with the Mac/PC’s media library.
iPort technology is suitable for a wide range of
audio and audio-video system concepts, including highly
customizable multiroom and whole-house
layouts, multiroom AV receivers, single-room/zone connections,
and more.
New Hampshire-based Russound is the market leader in
